Best For: Small spaces that require strong, freestanding anchorage.

This interstem option gives you the best of two worlds. We use a piece of dwarfing Bud.9 wood grafted between the scion and a vigorous M.111 root system. The result is a highly productive, compact tree that stays manageable in size but benefits from a deep, well-anchored, and drought-resistant root system. Once established, these usually do not require staking.
